Tie Dye Rainbow Waffles
Makes 4 waffles
Ingredients
- 1 cup waffle mix {I used Aunt Jemima}
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp oil
- 5 colors gel food coloring
- non stick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle maker.
- Prepare your batter by following the directions on your pancake mix for making waffles. I used 1 cup mix combined with 1 egg, 2 tbsp oil, and 3/4 cup milk.
- Let rest in the bowl for 5 minutes.
- Separate your batter into five Ziploc bags fitted inside 5 cups.
- Add gel food coloring and stir until blended. I used 5-6 different colors.
- Spray the waffle maker with non stick spray.
- Twist or seal the baggies then cut the tips off each bag.
- Squeeze the colored batter in a squiggly pattern, one color at a time into the heated waffle maker..
- Close your waffle maker and cook until the timer sounds.
- Remove then repeat with remaining batter. Remember the longer you cook, the darker brown the waffles will get.
- Cut each waffle in half and serve warm with whipped cream.

I used five different colors for these waffles. I like gel colors over regular food coloring since they are brighter and show much better.
