Today I am sharing these colorful Apple Slice Donuts for my last post on #BacktoSchoolTreats Week. These “donuts” are really apple slices topped with cream cheese and sprinkles. They are a fun, healthy snack to make with your kiddos for an after school treat.

Apple Slice Donuts #BackToSchoolTreats

Apple Slice Donuts

Makes approx 10 donuts

Ingredients

  • 2 large red apples
  • assorted flavors cream cheese spread
  • food coloring optional for cream cheese
  • colored sprinkles {I used Sweets and Treats brand}

Instructions

  • Cut apples into thick slices. I got about 5-6 per apple.
  • Cut a circle around the core, making the apple slices donut shaped. I used a icing tip or you can use s small cookie cutter.
  • Spread colored cream cheese all over the top of each apple slice.
  • Add sprinkles on top. I used these fun ABC sprinkles for back to school.
  • Now time to serve and enjoy!

 I used a icing tip or you can use s small cookie cutter. 
For the cream cheese topping you can use any flavor you like.
I used plain and added pink food coloring for some extra color.
I also used chocolate cream cheese and blueberry. 
My little helper always wants to assist in the kitchen!
Spread colored cream cheese all over the top of each apple slice.
So pretty already!
Add sprinkles on top. I used these fun ABC sprinkles for back to school.
Stella probably ate as many sprinkles as she put on her donut. 
She just can’t help herself!
These were seriously so good y’all! My new favorite treat!
Serve and enjoy. 
My girls each had two and requested them for breakfast too!
