Hawaiian Seashell Pasta Salad is a crowd pleasing side dish that is easy to make in just minutes! It can be made ahead and it a great dish to bring to a pool party or potluck!
Our Moana pool party was a blast and the food was quite delicious!
I loved creating tropical themed foods to serve the kiddos and this Moana Hawaiian Seashell Pasta Salad was one of the most popular dishes!
Stay tuned for all the details in the Moana party post later this week.
This pasta salad is creamy and flavorful with a dressing of Ranch seasoning, sour cream, and mayo. I also add peas, cheese, and -you guessed it- Spam! Not a fan of this popular Hawaiian staple?
You can substitute ham or even bacon!

Who else has kids that are obsessed with Moana? My kiddos love her and everything about the movie, so we threw a Moana themed pool party last month to say farewell to all their friends before we move. Stay tuned for the party blog post- featuring some of our favorite Etsy shops and their Moana goodies- this week!

Notes: I double the sour cream and ranch seasoning if I make this the night before. The pasta will soak up a lot of the sauce and dry out if it is not extra creamy.
Start by making the creamy sauce.

Oh yeah you know I had to!
Spam is a popular Hawaiian meat so I used it in this pasta salad
{to my husband’s delight}. You can also substitute ham or bacon.
Add diced Spam or ham to a skillet over medium heat
and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
In a small bowl mix together the ranch seasoning, sour cream and mayo.
Set aside.
Boil the pasta according to package directions for al dente.
Drain and rinse with cold water then let cool.
*I have used both small shells and large round shapes like pictured.
Add pasta to a large bowl and mix together with ranch sauce.
Mix in cheese, peas and Spam or ham.
Stir well then serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
*I double the sour cream and ranch seasoning if I make this the night before. The pasta will soak up a lot of the sauce and dry out if it is not extra creamy.
Whatever shell shaped pasta and toppings you use, remember this recipe
makes a lot and is great for summer gatherings!
