When my husband requested baked ham for our Christmas in August celebration, I knew I wanted to make a tasty version for him, but since I had a huge dinner to make on my own, I wanted to make it as easy as possible. So, as it often does, my Crock-Pot came to the rescue!
You are going to love this brown sugar and pineapple crusted ham. It’s so tender it just falls apart and the best thing- just throw it in the Crock-Pot for six hours and forget about it!

I found this delicious spiral ham at Sam’s Club.
I have used ham anywhere from 3-7 lbs for this recipe.
Lay a base of brown sugar on the bottom of the Crock-Pot.
Place your cooked ham on top of the sugar.
Pour a can of pineapple tidbits with juice on top of the ham. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
Look at this juicy, sweet ham!
This ham made my Christmas in August dinner a lot easier and my husband

I'm gonna try this out. But I have a boneless 8.5lb ham. Planning to put it in the crock pot on high at 7am and serve at 12pm. You think it'll be done by then?
Nicole Hood
Most hams are already cooked/smoked so you can try to do 3 hours on low and 2 on high. But I wouldn't just cook it on high.

She said on LOW for six to eight hours. 7 to 12 is not six. It isn't eight, either. High is not low. High will dry it out. If you can't follow the instructions you need to put it in the oven and cook normally.

Can you use a ham that is not spiral?
Nicole Hood
Sure. Spiral ham is just easier to slice, prettier presentation, and the juices and sugar can soak into the ham better, in my opinion.

what if you cannot put it sliced end down will it still be OK
Nicole Hood
You can put it in the Crock-Pot however it will fit. It will still be tasty and juicy!

If I have a slow roaster what temperature would you recommend to set it at? The lowest temp is 150.

What if I'm only cooking for two. What size ham should I use and what would i want to adjust the measurements to?
Nicole Hood
I found a smaller 3lb half ham at Sam's Club before and that cooked up beautifully. Also I love using leftovers for sandwiches and casseroles!

In the picture you show your ham and state it is 3 lbs. A 3 lb ham is quite small and most hams I see for sale are between 6-8 lbs. In the comments I see people refer to Hams around this size, and I even read a comment where you mentioned using a 7 lb. ham. Is your recipe specifically for a 3 lb. ham? Should I double it for a ham twice the size? I have a 6 quart crockpot. I am assuming a 6-8 lb. ham can fit in that without problem. I would like to do this for Thanksgiving. But I want to make sure I get it right.
Nicole Hood
Hi Diane. I have updated that. The first time I made this I used the Sam's Club smaller 3 lb ham. However, the last few times I have made it I have been cooking for many more people so I used between 5-7lb hams. All fit in my biggest Crockpot and I used the same amount of sugar and pineapple b/c the ham itself has a lot of juice too. It always comes out tender and with a nice crust!

So hubby bought me a 11.5lb instead since it was on sale. Any idea how to adjust the recipe/cook times to accommodate the size difference?

My family isn't fond of pineapple and we were wondering what we would need to change if we just want the brown sugar and the ham? Can I just put it in the crock pot like that or do I need to add something else so it will still be nice and juicy? Thank you!

My daughter requested this recipe, as she does not like turkey. I just set the 6 hours on the Crock Pot and we can't wait to try it this afternoon! Thanks for such a great and easy recipe 🙂

Just tried the crockpot ham and pineapple recipe. I added some maraschino cherries to the recipe as they are a family favorite. After putting it in the crockpot overnight and setting my clock for 6 hours to wake up to a delicious smelling ham; Oh wow! It taste GREAT!!!Easy recipe to use without the hot heat of the oven. Thank you for sharing.

Dang my ham is to tall for the crock. Do you think aluminum foil will hold the steam in?

This ham recipe did not come out as pictured. The flavor was good, 6 hours as too long and I never got the sugar crust although I followed the directions.

I was so excited to try this recipe to complete my Thanksgiving dinner this year. I followed the recipe to the letter, cooking it for 6 hours, the ham turned a very dark color and was completely dry. What could have gone wrong?

I made this on Thanksgiving. 9lb spiral in 6qt crock pot. Tough time making it fit! Mine did not get the crusty browness on top but boy oh boy was it delicious! Pretty sweet tasting though if you like ham that way. I'm not sure why it's done in a crock pot, maybe to free up the oven if you don't do it ahead? It seemed to me baking in the oven would produce the same results. Question: Is it to be basted at all during cook time? It could have been more moist.
