I saw these fun Cupcake Shoes on Pinterest a while ago and thought they were the cutest things and just had to try them one day. When I teamed up with ShayShay’s Cupcakes this month for a giveaway I knew it was the perfect time to make these for the blog! Also I was craving their cupcakes and what better excuse than I need to gobble up a few cupcakes for my blog, right?

First off, let me just say I have had a MAJOR Sweet Tooth since Valentine’s Day and any excuse to bake cookies or to buy cupcakes (from ShayShay’s, of course) I will! Did you see my recipe for these delish Pink Velvet Chocolate Chip Crinkle Cookies?
This recipe uses 2 different cookies, conveniently located next to each other in the dangerously delicious cookie aisle at the grocery store. Pirouette wafer cookies and Milano cookies are what I recommend to make the “shoe” part of the Cupcake Shoes. Speaking of dangerously delicious have you tried the new Marshmallow Crispy Oreos? Quite possibly the best thing ever…ok well maybe tied with a cupcake…but dang they are ah-mazing!
Beep, beep Ava loves the carts at the commissary!
Ingredients:
- Baked and Frosted Cupcakes
- Milano Cookies
- Pirouette Wafer Cookies
- Gel Icing, sprinkles, edible glitter and pearls, anything to decorate your shoes!
Directions:
- Start with soft, fresh cupcakes. {Preferably not refrigerated because the icing and cake may become hard. This happened to me with the buttercream icing on the green cupcakes below. The softer and fluffier, the easier it is the insert and hold up the cookies.}
- Add a little extra “bling” to your cupcake! I used festive colored sprinkles on one and edible pearls on another!
- Decorate a Milano cookie. I used colored Glitter Gel Icing and made designs or outlined the cookie. Have fun- try edible glitter or sprinkles too! {No need to decorate the bottom of the cookie since that will be in the cupcake.}
- Insert the bottom of the cookie into the side of the cupcake so it is standing up and is now the sole of the cupcake. This is why you need thick soft frosting.
- Add a dollop of frosting or gel icing to the end of a Pirouette cookie and attach and press it at an angle to the underside of the Milano so it is now the heel of the shoe.
- Let set and try not to move too much.
- These are so adorable you may not want to eat them….but if you’re like me you can’t say no to a perfectly delicious cupcake and you will probably cave in and
devoureat it! Then you’ll want another….it’s a dangerously delicious cycle!
Start with freshly made cupcakes.
I used both traditional cupcakes with buttercream frosting
and soft banana bread cupcakes with pudding frosting.
I love the Glitter Gel icing to decorate and write with along
with fun colored sprinkles and edible glitter and pearls!
Use the glitter gel to decorate the Milano cookie (you can skip decorating the end since it will be covered).
Insert the Milano into the icing until it is secure.
Now add a dollop of icing or glitter gel to the tip of the Pirouette cookie and attach that at and angle to the Milano to form the heel.
My Glamorous Green Cupcake Shoes!
I used a day old cupcake that had been refrigerated and the buttercream was hard. This is why you can see the cookie would not stay well. Make sure to use soft icing!
My Stunning Stiletto Cupcake Shoes are my favorite!
These were soft banana bread cupcakes with a pudding frosting- perfect for making Cupcake Shoes!
By the way, these cupcakes are Banana Pudding Cupcakes from ShayShay’s Cupcakes.
My new favorite flavor!
