Being the proud Southern lady I am, my favorite drink no matter the season is Sweet Iced Tea. None of that unsweetened stuff {I shudder to think..} but fresh brewed, sugar sweetened, cold tea all the way! I usually brew my tea on the stove but I thought today, with the weather being so lovely and our new patio finished, I would try Sun Tea. Y’all it is so easy peasy and made the most ah-mazing Iced Tea ever! Even better, I used a couple bags of herbal berry tea to add a subtle fruit flavor and then garnished my glasses with fresh raspberries! I could {and will} drink this all summer long!

Summertime Raspberry Sun Tea
Ingredients
- 6 bags family size Lipton iced tea bags
- 2 Berry Herbal tea bags
- 14 cups of water
- 1/2 cup sugar or to taste
- fresh raspberries to top each glass
Instructions
- Start by filling a large jar or beverage container with cool water.
- Now add your tea bags- the rule is usually about 1 cup of water to every regular size tea bag. I used jumbo iced tea bags and those are equal to 2 regular bags.
- I like to have a hint of fruit flavor but not too much so I added a couple berry tea bags and some fresh berries at the end.
- Add a lid to your jar and set outside in a sunny spot for 1-2 hours. Don't leave it longer than 2 hours or it may become bitter.
- Once your tea is brewed bring back inside and add sugar to taste, I added 1/2 cup.
- Now it's ready to serve over ice and garnished with fresh berries!

I used family size Lipton iced tea bags and Wild Berry herbal tea bags.
The rule of thumb is about 1 cup of water to every regular size tea bag {family size bag= 2 normal tea bags}.
I ended up using 6 family size iced tea bags and 2 raspberry tea bags.
Place the tea bags in the water with the paper hanging outside so they stay afloat.
Top your jar with a lid and place outside in a sunny spot.
You want it to brew for 1-2 hours- not any longer or it may get bitter.
Ava decided to water her flowers {in her pjs, of course} while our tea brewed.
Fast forward to two hours later….our tea’s ready to bring inside!
The berries add a natural sweetness but I wanted a {little} more so I mixed in 1/2 cup sugar.
I added a few ice cubes to my mason jar glasses and filled with fresh tea.
Top it off with some fresh berries and a straw and you are set!
Check out what my handy dandy husband built for us!
A new patio, complete with gate and umbrella holder.
{Isn’t Ava’s little picnic table the cutest thing?}
So this weekend: take a seat, enjoy the sunshine, sip your sweet tea and enjoy life!
