This homemade caramel popcorn recipe is easier than you think to make. It is sinfully sweet and absolutely delicious!
I have something exciting to share with y’all today! I had the opportunity to try the new Waterpik Aquarius
Professional Water Flosser and I am hooked! I always get compliments on my teeth and my smile and I am proud to say I have only had one cavity my whole life! But what most people don’t know is I have had braces twice and I still have a permanent retainer/braces bar attached to the back of my bottom teeth. So I have to really be on top of my brushing and flossing. Flossing has always been a chore for me. I just don’t like it and it’s especially hard to do with the braces bar on my teeth. Then I found Waterpik! It’s like having a dentist office gadget at your home! I love how small and easy it is to use and how clean my teeth feel after! It’s clinically proven to improve gum health vs. string floss and it has different speeds, tips, and settings to adjust to what you like. I think it’s not only quicker than traditional flossing but it does a more thorough job and leaves my mouth feeling fresh and clean!

I use my Waterpik every day now and I am happy to say I just had my twice yearly checkup at the dentist and I got a good report from the dentist! This was the first time in YEARS I was not scolded but not flossing well! I told him about my new Waterpik Flosser and he said he highly recommended them!
Also let me just say I am not good at setting things up and figuring out crazy gadgets with a million parts. With Ashton deployed, I have had a difficult time with certain items and Ava’s toys but the Waterpik was easy! Pretty much assembled in the box, it also comes with a Quickstart guide, manual, and a Toll free help line number to call with any questions! Doesn’t get much easier than that!

- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- To make the popcorn: add oil to a deep heavy bottom pot.
- Add 2 corn kernels to the pot, cover, and heat over med high.
- When the corn kernels pop your oil is ready. Add 1/2 cup corn kernels, cover, and cook, shaking occasionally, until popping has slowed and popcorn is popped.
- Remove from heat and pour popcorn onto a Silpat or Parchment lined baking sheet.
- To save time you can use two bags of microwave popcorn if you'd like!
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees. For the caramel sauce: add butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup to a saucepan and heat over medium.
- Stir once when melted to combine then simply let it cook down for a couple minutes until bubbly.
- Turn heat to low. Add vanilla and salt and stir then add baking soda. It will fizz up, stir and turn off heat.
- Pour caramel over the popcorn on the baking sheet. Using a rubber spatula, mix until all popcorn is coated.
- Place in the oven and bake at 250 degrees for approx 30 minutes, until golden and crunchy.
- Break apart, once slightly cooled, and enjoy!
Notes
If you like soft caramel corn then skip the baking step.
I personally love the crunchy, sticky, stuck in your teeth hard Caramel Corn, but I make sure to floss with my Waterpik afterwards!
