Quiche Lorraine
Serves 6
Ingredients
1
frozen pie shell
thawed
6
slices
bacon
cooked and chopped
1
cup
whole milk {or heavy cream}
6
eggs
beaten
1
cup
shredded gruyere or white cheddar cheese
divided
1
small shallot
diced
1/8
teaspoon
nutmeg
salt/white pepper
to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Whisk eggs and cream in a bowl.
Add nutmeg, salt, pepper. Stir until combined.
Sprinkle bacon and half the cheese in the bottom of the pie crust.
Pour egg mixture into the pie crust.
Sprinkle in the shallot.
Top with remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until set.
Cool slightly then slice into 6 servings.
Serve with a side salad and fruit and enjoy.
